The article below was written by Stanislav Mishin, a blogger and columnist for the Russian newspaper, Pravda. Those of my blogging friends who endure my occasional political rants will know that I have watched with a feeling of helpless frustration our own recent plunges into totalitarianism. It’s an interesting, though sobering, read to gain the perspective of someone in country who has been there and done that.
American capitalism gone with a whimper . . . . .
It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American descent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.
True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.
Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.
First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather than the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas than the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their “right” to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us (Russia) about our rights and about our “democracy”. Pride blinds the foolish.
Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different “branches and denominations” were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the “winning” side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the “winning” side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox (Russian Orthodox) churches are scandalously liberalized in America.
The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America’s short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more than another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.
These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more than ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?
These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties and powers of the American congress (parliament). Again, congress has put up little more then a whimper to their masters.
Then came Barack Obama’s command that GM’s (General Motor) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of “pure” free markets, the American president now has the power, the self given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.
So it should be no surprise that the American president has followed this up with a “bold” move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantee of automobile policies. I am sure that if given the chance, they would happily try and redesign it for the whole of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less then two months ago, warned Obama and UK’s Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, so let our “wise” Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.
Again, the American public has taken this with barely a whimper…but a “freeman” whimper.
So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set “fair” maximum salaries, evaluate performance and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Franks, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.
The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.
The proud American will go down into his slavery with out a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.

Man am I depressed….
Jun 06, 2009 @ 16:54:45
Depressing, yes, but thanks for posting this for wider readership. Richard Maybury has been saying this for years. Australians also need to WAKE UP to their foolish slide into govt worship and realize that being granted permission by them to do something DOESN’T CONSTITUTE FREEDOM.
Mrs BB, this kind of thing SO sends me into rant mode. So, I better stop right here before I take over your blog
I’m just glad at least one other person in this country is sympathetic to the way I think on these matters.
Jun 06, 2009 @ 19:43:55
It is dreary reading is it not? But Elle, you ae not alone. There are many who have seen this demise coming and not been lulled into the false security but I’m afraid the numbers are too small and not vocal enough. Soon, they too like the Russians and others will be silenced if they voice objections. Our pollies are just lackies to US. They accused Mr Howard of it but Krudd is just the same.
(Must not get bitter and twisted.) Remenmber to pray for our elected leaders. God have mercy on us and come quickly Lord Jesus.
Jun 07, 2009 @ 10:14:33
BB,
As one of your blogging friends, I certainly do not ‘endure’ your occasional political rants, I love them! I learn so much through you and HomeMeadow…don’t stop!
Jun 07, 2009 @ 10:16:32
Can I ask, dear friend, what your thoughts are about this blog post? (Or if this is more the type of thing that needs to be addressed via email, you know where my addy is)
http://generationswithvision.com/resources.aspx?p=articles&aid=34
I’d love to hear your thoughts on it, one day, as you are able.
Jun 07, 2009 @ 14:27:23
Dandelionmom, yes, it is a sobering business, isn’t it? It amazes me that the general public has been duped to the point that we welcome interference from the government on so many areas of life and look to them as saviour from all real and fabricated, and blown out of proportion maladies.
Elle, Grrrr!
“being granted permission by them to do something DOESN’T CONSTITUTE FREEDOM.”
I wish I could shout it from the mountain tops!! But just as the lost are blind to the slavery of sin they are ensnared in, so are the people blind to the reality that their freedoms are coaxed from them under the guise of protection from everything from the sun to the big, bad terrorists, swine flu, and everything in between.
Ruby: “Remember to pray for our elected leaders. God have mercy on us and come quickly Lord Jesus.”
Amen.
*note to self! Must not get bitter and twisted. ( A timely reminder, thank you, friend!)
Susan, it could be the lack of sleep, but I found it difficult to distinguish when he was being rhetorical and when literal?
My thoughts on the issue of separation of church and state are fairly black and white. I don’t advocate the church dabbling in the state for a moment!
Just as Jews looked to improve their lot by a political overthrow and were rebuked by Jesus, many today hope that Christianity will attain dominion in this world through political means. That is not what we are about. You won’t find example or command of it in the new testament. The command was to go and preach the gospel, to make disciples of all men. It was not to deal with the politics of the day. (and if anyone had reason to look for change in the political realm, it was the Christians of the early church! Yet their political activity is conspicuous by its absence.)
While I believe we have a duty to declare the standards of God’s Word to those who make policy, and while I believe individuals can have a place in the political system, the church is sadly, grossly out of place in the political arena. Even should one be heretical enough to lay aside the Word, history on so many levels shows that when the church comes to power politically, people die wholesale. God save us from such as that!
Preach the Word, make disciples of all men…
Thanks for sharing with me, friends.

The problem is for everyone thing Stanislav has right he is equally wrong about something . I cant fathom his comment about Americans faith in God has been destroyed given that something like 80% of Americans are Christians . Also has I have noted in my blog the Gay haters have contributed California problems .
Yeah I know that not all Christians are gay hating lunatics who want a bible version of Iran .
Jun 07, 2009 @ 21:59:26
Excellent posting.
I believe we need to address change much closer to home if we hope to see change at national levels. What was done at the point of a gun in Russia has been done by deception in the “free” world, and by the laziness of the Saints.
The following is part of a post on my blog which I had actually put as a comment on Larrywho.wordpress.com
I feel sad for America. King Obama is on the throne now. His clear and declared intention is to do in one presidency, what has taken sixty years to achieve in the UK. ie destroy a nation by deception and the infantilising of its people. The “Land of the Free” becomes the Land of the Feeble, like Britain, everyone kept in the spiritual, social, financial play pen so they don’t get hurt.
The promise of the Labour government which came into power in the UK after the war was that their new “Welfare State” would take care of everyone from the cradle to the grave. ie the state would become Mummy, Daddy, Nanny, Nurse, God etc. (or pastor priest vicar etc)
The UK is now in a state of acute moral degeneration. Socialism is the biggest vote purchasing scheme imaginable. Keep throwing money at the lazy and undeserving and they cease to be productive or responsible.
The constant cry in the UK is, “why doesn’t the Government do something”. The idea of anyone personally doing anything, through a simple sense of mature responsibility has long gone from most of this nation. In fact most such actions are now illegal!
My prayer for a long time has been for the massive collapse of our Welfare State. (I am hoping that we may just be seeing the first shoots of that disintegration. Only time will tell.)
There is a distinct connection between strong Church leadership which makes decisions on our behalf, and strong state leadership which also makes all decisions on our behalf.
It is called “Abdication”, it is an “Ahab” spirit, a spirit of immaturity which refuses to take responsibility for personal decisions and risks. It is evident in the Israelites when they demanded a king to rule over them. God said that it was rebellion against his personal reign over them. However they insisted, despite Gods most stern warning. God said that when the king that they choose becomes a tyrant, “don’t come to me about it as I won’t listen to you”.
Likewise I don’t think he listens to those who protest about tyrannical church leadership. “You chose that system, don’t complain to me!” Its like expecting a crocodile not to eat people!
(The very reason I exited the church system)
The Saints have adopted the same spirit in demanding “strong leadership” to make the decisions for them instead of getting before God and learning to hear His voice and do His will.
The voters have demonstrated the same heart as the church in demanding a “Big State” to rule over them and take the decisions for them. The two are very connected, the same demonic power is very clearly at work. Its purpose in both cases is to create a passive people.
To quote Larrywho,- (larrywho.wordpress.com)
“Three corporate church and personal sins we all struggle with are apathy, lethargy and compromise.”
WHATEVER HAS HAPPENED TO THE RISK TAKING, PIONEERING AMERICAN PEOPLE?
The saints, vast numbers of which voted for social welfare both in the UK and the States, MUST take personal responsibility for their walk before God, instead of letting their Pastor or minister carry it on their behalf. I believe that God is challenging the Saints to come out into the wilderness, away from the safety of their cozy congregations. I believe he is challenging the Saints to take risks in their walk without the safe “covering” of church leadership. I believe Christ is saying, as he did to Peter when he was in the middle of the Sea of Galilee, “come”.
It is time for the Saints to get out of their manmade boat, the church, and walk over the water with Jesus.
Come and discover the “Covering” of Christ himself rather than another man.
Then we will experience Revival. There will be mistakes on the way, but those who don’t make mistakes usually don’t make anything.
We could learn a little from this prayer of Sir Francis Drake, who most might just dismiss as an Elizabethan pirate!-
“Disturb us Lord, when we are too pleased with ourselves. When our dreams have come true because we dreamed too little. When we arrived safely because we sailed too close to the shore. Disturb us Lord, to dare more boldly. To venture on wider seas. Where storms will show your mastery; Where, losing sight of land, we shall find the stars. We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; And to push into the future, in strength, courage, hope and love.” (SIR FRANCIS DRAKE 1577)

As conservative, Christian (not just in name), American, I’m sad about what is happening in my country too. Most people don’t know what’s going on, and what’s worse, even if they did know, I’m not sure they’d care as long as their satellite televisions were still working.
There are many of us counting the days until the next presidential election!
Is it wrong to admit that I secretly hope that Obama fails miserably at his job? I mean, I don’t want the country to further degenerate, but there are so very many that are blinded by his charisma, although I personally don’t see much charismatic about him.
*sigh*
Bottom line: the day of Christ’s return gets closer every day that passes by. Until then, it’s just going to get worse. Not just here… everywhere.
Our leaders need to be seriously prayed for, not just talked about. And, the rest of the world needs to realize that “hollywood” America is not mainstream America.
Jun 08, 2009 @ 20:29:40
Luke; while many Americans (and Australians) profess Christianity, it is more of a badge than a belief.
Take, for example, America’s president and Australia’s Prime Minister. Both were touted as “Christian” men. But can one be a true follower of Christ, and yet promote the things He hates? Where is the evidence that either man has any inclination toward following the teaching of Jesus? Calling oneself a Christian is very different to being one.
As to gay haters causing some of the difficulties in California, one could argue that the gay’s militant campaign to destroy the traditional and legal definition of marriage is equally, if not more so, culpable. The problem lies in there being no neutral ground. Gays are not satisfied with the legal right to be as perverse as they desire, but they demand the rest of society to laud them for their choice.
Take the recent decision to stage an “education program” (say…hello communism!) in Victorian schools. The idea is to promote homosexuality, not for it’s own merit, but to help those suffering from homophobia.
If we wind the clock back 20 years, sodomy was a criminal offence. 50 years ago it was too shameful to speak of. And now suddenly, if one does not celebrate, acknowledge and affirm homosexuality, it is because of mental illness? And it is so important to celebrate, acknowledge and affirm someone’s sexual choices that the government is spending tax dollars “educating” the citizenry of tomorrow through our
social indoctrination centres, ooops, I mean our public school system? Sorry to head off into rant mode on this one, but in light of the recent call to make over the hate crimes bill, and the human rights bill, this is a pertinent subject for me.Francisdrakeprivateer, I hear you. Oh, that men would stand up and be men!!!
Whitney, I did notice around the blogosphere post your presidential elections that there were people who had hoped for a different outcome and remained unmoved by Obama’s slick presentations. You, with Ruby, are so right to remind us to pray for our elected leaders. My reaction to so many of the changes that have been wrought in the last year have less often included sincere prayer for politicians.
Thank you all, for contributing to the discussion.
Jun 09, 2009 @ 11:29:02
@ Beyond Bluestockings the problem is that there are so many branches of Christianity that all can make the claim that they are ones who are true to there faith . This why despite the carrot of historical interest I have avoided such a subjective topic . Spirituality is becoming prevalent as in some cases people drift away from Church’s . The actual belief in the existence of a higher power isnt going away .
As I said in the relevant entry what good is Gay Marriage going to do Gays when California is bankrupt ?
The whole Gay Marriage debate is about Gays gaining wider acceptance in the Community rather then Gay Marriage itself .
Surely if the issue was about Gay Marriage then there would be wider calls for Gay Marriage hear in New Zealand ?
At one stage one school thought subscribed to the idea that giving women the vote would kill us all and now I am expected to believe that Gays will do the same . Its interesting to note that both John Key and Helen Clark are agnostics . Anyway its dangerous to paint all Christians in the same manner hence my comment about not all Christians hating Gays .
I have no interest in telling you how to raise your children . Your kids will grow up and face the big bad world and come to grips with what ever there sexuality turns out to be in there own time . When I grew up in Perth the Sydney Gay mardi gra always got a lot of media attention . With the hindsight of being an adult I find it strange that so many people who professed to dislike Gays would go and attend the event.
The whole mardi gra scene isnt my cup of tea and yet I have not been accused of having a problem with Gays for this aspect of my personal taste .

Luke, while there is a wide variety of people who claim to be Christian and yet have wildly differing views from each other, the Bible is there for any to read and decide upon the truest course. His laws, His judgment, His mercy don’t change, regardless of how men cheapen them by shallow declarations.
The whole Gay Marriage debate is about Gays gaining wider acceptance in the Community rather then Gay Marriage itself.
Yes, I quite agree.
Perth? You are not a native of NZ then? (You’ve gone rather against the tide if that’s the case
)
Jun 10, 2009 @ 10:40:48
Hmm I think I will leave the bible and other points for another discussion rather then hijack this one . Now returning to the focus of the topic Mikhail Gorbachev opinion piece linked to below is well worth a read .

You were born and raised in Perth, and you moved to NZ? I guess someone has to fill the gaps left by all the New Zealanders heading this way..
(I mean no harm by my teasing, Luke, but really, you are only the second Australian I have ever met who has moved to New Zealand, where as I know so many, many people who have come the other way!
)
Jesting aside, the article from Gorbachev was very interesting. What I find alarming though, is that under his perestroika, the power was being wrested from the government, and liberty was being given to the people. Responsibility and control of the economy was being handed over to the people, rather than the govn. doing the massive bailout actions we are seeing in America, and the throw money at the citizenry we experienced here in Australia. Are we going backwards?!
One of the most alarming things I have seen economically in Australia is a revoking of the property title laws. I had no idea that our land was being used for collateral to improve the state’s credit rating, so we can plunge with a will into more debt. But I won’t start raving about that now..too close to bed and I’ll not sleep!
Thanks for sharing the article

@ Beyond bluestockings lol I saw a current affairs program last year on Australians who have migrated to New Zealand . Today the only thing I miss about my old town is the commuter rail network .
My understanding of what happened in Russia is that via the process of privatisation organised crime took control of elements of the private sector . I welcome the reader to correct me if I am wrong .
Rather then repeat my thoughts on the article I will post a link below to what I posted on a forum I belong to .
http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/single/6482742.html
In addition I will say the following . The bail outs will devalue the US dollar to the point of worthlessness . This will open the door for the North American Union . Australasia seems to be a part of the world that isnt drifting towards a EU model . Governments cant spend there way out of the Credit Crunch . Confidence can only be restored in the credit markets be a tighter regulatory frame work .
People are unwilling to face up to the fact that the New Zealand government can only afford to put money into the Super fund or what ever it is called when economic times are good . The fund is spouse to pay for old age pensions . The reality is that income thresholds(SP?) will need to be introduced for old age pensions .
Kiwi Saver other wise known as Superannuation(SP?) has taken a battering from government cut backs and the Credit Crunch .
Jun 11, 2009 @ 22:10:20
My understanding of what happened in Russia is that via the process of privatisation organised crime took control of elements of the private sector . I welcome the reader to correct me if I am wrong.
You are right, of course, but corruption is an ingredient in any society and certainly communism offered no protection from it.
You made some interesting points in your forum post. I’d like to hear why you consider that industry needs more regulating? ( I have to say, if I lived in America, I would have voted Ron Paul
)
I agree with you re the bailouts. I don’t consider that is the role of the government.
Jun 11, 2009 @ 22:19:14
lol, Mrs. BB! There are still many people who have their “vote for Ron Paul” signs up in my area, even though he was out of the running early in the primary, much less the election itself!
Jun 12, 2009 @ 09:00:46
@ Beyond Bluestockings which industry are you specify referring to ?
I wouldn’t say that I am for or against regulating industry . Making such a blanket statement is dangerous . Its possible to over regulate and under regulate the private sector . Clearly changes to the Resources Management Act are required because in its current form investment and infrastructure projects are being strangled at birth .
Yet few people would argue that something doesnt need to be done about the electricity company’s that have ripped off consumers . I know of a kiwi who upon returning home in 2005 having lived in Australia for twenty years , found that over here people were paying more a month for power then Aussies were paying over a three month period .
For all the price rises there is still no more redundancy in the electricity grid then there was eleven years ago when Auckland lost the power for about three weeks . You see New Zealand followed the trend of privatisation in the 80s and 90s and the award has been that overseas owned company’s engaged in asset stripping .
Jun 12, 2009 @ 22:37:07
Whitney, I guess people can still dream…
I would love to live a world without every aspect of society being micro-managed by the government. That would be Utopia, I suppose (just insert a little *sigh* here).
Luke, I’m sorry, my question sprang from a comment you made in your forum post, and after a more careful reading I see that my question was answered, and that the regulation you seek is in regard to limiting the scope of effect from a business downfall by a single company.
Jun 13, 2009 @ 02:10:33
America is an interesting country and the most resilient nation that has ever existed. We have successfully had over 40 peaceful revolutions and only one or two violent ones.
America is still an essentially conservative nation. Conservatism is typically reflected by the Republican party while Liberalism is the bastion of the Democratic party. The Republicans lost their way in America and moved closer to their liberal counterparts across the aisle. They had no resonating message for America.
In swept the Obama revolution, a call for change to a people that sensed change was needed. In fact, Americans were so disgusted with where the Republicans had led America that ANY change was acceptable.
But the cold, hard reality was not long in appearing. Since his very first days, Obama has accomplished virtually nothing. The Stimulus plan has spent barely $40B of the $800B. There is talk from within the Democratic party to curtail the plan. America’s conservatives have now begun to emerge. The complacent co-conspirators in the media now smell stories in Obamaland and the wheel slowly begins to turn.
Where will America be in 3 years? They will be looking for answers. If Obama has provided some, they will re-elect him. But Obama has never before been asked for answers. He doesn’t have a track record of producing answers.
And then there is Sarah Palin, emerging stronger and resonating with ordinary folks. America is about to enter a new era and we have a tendency to start those new eras with liberal democrats. Jimmy Carter led to Ronald Reagan. The similarities in this cycle are interesting, to say the least.
Jun 16, 2009 @ 12:11:21
Hmmm. I’m not sure my world history is sound enough to dispute your claim that America is the most resilient nation that has ever existed, but, Burstmode, it’s not that old! While of course you are older than we spring chickens here in Australia, I don’t know…it’s a bold claim.
I understand the “any change is acceptable” mindset: we have seen a few government changes in Australia of the same flavour. It kind of leaves a sinking feeling of.. (?) fatality, knowing that someone was voted in on charisma and colour.
While I like the sound of Sarah Palin, I’d find you having a female President even more distressing than I find myself having a female Premier (just).
Three years… a lot can happen in that time.
Jun 17, 2009 @ 20:51:39
Charisma counts for a lot in the minds of most (mindless) voters…that\’s why we have got Uncle Kruddy and the US has Obama…the opposite sides in both countries didn\’t have anything to match it….Sarah Palin was a joke and from what I saw McCann was too similar to Bush.
Here, we had the \’charismatic\’ Kruddy the likeable chap who was on the TV with Kochie….some of you fellow BB blog reader will remember my reaction to the Labor win…so I won\’t go there….!!!!
Interesting article and comments Mrs BB…the recent events here in \’Annaland\’ have had me hot under the collar….she has ruined the state! Although the southerners won\’t need to move up here now…we\’re going to be no different to the southern states now that Anna has lied and got her way! OK we do have great weather here, but I\’m sure that Anna is working on a way to ruin THAT now!

I always said she should be home baking cookies.
Just thinking about Anna Sewerage Swillin’ Bligh, is one of the greatest challenges to controlling my unruly member.
Ruby, don’t be too sure about that. She may not be able to alter it, exactly, but she will probably find a way to tax us for enjoying it.
(I don’t know what’s with the slash thing?)
Jun 18, 2009 @ 17:32:07
Regarding the slash thing…I’ve noticed that it’s only happening on other peoples comments not yours….is that the power of the mighty Mac???
Regarding Anna and the weather…good comment Mrs BB!

Jun 18, 2009 @ 18:20:47
Yes, you trumped me there! But lets’s not give Anna too much credit.
Jun 18, 2009 @ 18:35:57
@ Beyondbluestockings why does a female Premier bother you ?
Maybe I misread what you said and you only object to her politics and not the fact the women holds the top job in QLD .
Jun 18, 2009 @ 21:42:03
Luke, I object to the politics of Anna Bligh. (That is probably the understatement of the year.) I am not a fan of Labor in general, and this current government in particular.
However, on a more personal level, I do also specifically object to having a woman hold office over so many men. I recognize that we will part company with this line of thought, but I believe there is a created order, and that the man was designed to be the authority.
This post;
http://beyondbluestockings.wordpress.com/2009/03/22/beattie-bligh-and-the-whole-abominable-business/#comments
was written after the election results come in. It was a bitter moment! Finding the blow of a labor win compounded with the insult of a woman heading the party was almost too much for this little voter. I feel somewhat vindicated in that even her own party are wearying of her downright reckless handling of the states assets. The woman could not have done a more thorough work of destroying our economic position if she had masterminded our demise from the start. (But relax, everyone, I won’t start that rant again…
)
Lisa, I’d like to claim the slash free status of my comments as a result of owning such a superior machine as this little beauty
But despite it’s good looks, it’s fine styling, it’s high performance and intelligent functioning…..there are a few slashes in my comments on another thread
Ruby, “credit” and “Anna” are two words that can no longer appear in the same sentence!! Rocketing into debt at a rate that would make Christopher Skase blush, it is possible that the word “credit” will not appear beside her name again.
Jun 19, 2009 @ 07:18:55
LOL!
And my full support in it being against God’s created order for a woman to be in that sort of authority.
Jun 19, 2009 @ 13:50:34
Well you are certainly right in saying that I disagree with you concerning a women holding high office . I will have a read of your post election entry .
I have a feeling that if you haven’t read it already you would enjoy the memoirs of the late Ian Smith . The more recent editions of the book have been entitled , Bitter Harvest: The Great Betrayal and the Dreadful Aftermath .

My grandchildren who are yet to be born will be paying off the debits of both the federal and state Labor governments which are fast rising….where is all the money form the years of increasing government revenue from the mining and property boom….on a state level squandered by a unresponsible Labor government who were/are totally arrogant!
At least the Fed’s were in the black…until Uncle Kruddy and his mate Swan got their greedy, grubby hands on it!

Hello friends!
I have come in late from a day of adventures, (Want a glimpse? It was cuuute…! http://urbandaisy.wordpress.com/2009/06/19/the-farmers-magic/ ) but I’ll be off to look at the link you have left, Luke, and maybe find a review of the book you mention.
Lisa, that’s the sad part: you don’t just spring back from that kind of debt. It may be more palatable if the money were being put to use to actually make a difference to the economy, but it all seems reactionary rather than a developed plan to sustain and recover the economic strength of the state/nation.

Luke…
I believe there is one true, holy, righteous, terrible, just and pure, loving God who exists in three persons and does not change.
I believe He created the heavens and the earth in six days, and created man in His image.
I believe that through one man, Adam, sin, and so death, entered into the world, and through one man, Jesus the Christ who was fully God and fully man, the only begotten Son of God, salvation was procured for all who believe.
I believe that while I am the vilest of sinners, who has committed offences I would die a thousand deaths of shame should the world know of; who has rebelled against God, my parents, and every person who has ever been in legitimate authority over me; and who deserves to be cast into an eternity of perdition separate from God and all that is pure and good; that because of God’s infinite mercy toward me, because of Christ bearing the wrath of God on the cross for my sake, I will stand before God and be declared righteous! It will not be because of any worthy or good thing I have said or done, but wholly because of the atoning work of Christ Jesus on my behalf, and because of the gift of faith God has given me to believe in Him.
“Behold the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world.”
