Darn…ummm…would you have their phone number?
Apr 26, 2009 @ 04:10:39
We just had an earthquake here, strong enough, but I think without dead or wounded people. Dan
Apr 26, 2009 @ 07:09:02
Dan, I thank God that you are all safe. I have read about ’77, and can only imagine how frightened people must have been last night.
Apr 26, 2009 @ 07:10:25
Burstmode, not me. No, I’ve no need for it
Apr 26, 2009 @ 09:33:28
In fact, it wasn’t a big deal, but – like always – tv made a big show; as I live in the north of the country and the center of the earthquakes is in the south, I believed for a moment that it was a new Kobe. It was only 5.4 degrees on Richter, for – they say – 3 minutes. For a while all tv posts spoke of dead people, ruined buildings and so on. In fact – only the Earth released some of it’s strain, that’s all.
I’ll try to call you more frequent – you always inspired me.
Best regards,
Dan

LOL I love it!
Don’t need their number [cough cough] but…hilarious. Actually, maybe I do need their husband, for my husband of course.
Apr 27, 2009 @ 10:03:40
Dan, thanks for sharing with me, and for your kind words. Please let me know if you post pictures of your project on the island.
Susan, I’m just going to trust that you meant that you need their…number! (mmm, for your husband of course
)

Apr 29, 2009 @ 08:16:07
lol! Not us, eh?
I would have found this funny at any time, but a certain someone in my house who normally cannot understand how I manage to get myself embroiled in the dramas I do (remember the {shhh!} …..xmas thread?) has recently been up till the small hours of the morning sharing his thoughts with the blogging world on the take over of GCCC by that monster franchise, Hillsong.
Apr 29, 2009 @ 10:12:07
I will definitely send Fee a something extra if/when she wins…
….do you know yet how she’ll rig the draw??? LOL!
Apr 29, 2009 @ 14:10:30
Hey Mrs BB….I’d love to be directed to what Mr BB has written…not that I’d enter the debate but I’d love to take a sticky beak at what people are saying about the ‘take-over’….
PM/email me if you prefer!

Homemeadow, here’s one that I couldn’t resist wading in on. Though if you make it through all 77 (!) comments you will be amazed at my self control.
http://groupsects.wordpress.com/2009/04/05/hillong-swallows-brisbanes-garden-city-church-whole-scchhhhllooooooop/#comments
I’ll have to check with Mr BB about his: I thought he commented on the same site, but there are several articles dealing with the takeover and I am not sure which he commented on. There were others, but will have to wait until he gets home to check where.
As much as I inwardly cringed when I heard Hillsong was spreading the love to Brisbane, I have (except for that one small lapse above) stayed out of it. It’s not something I think either side will be able to change people’s views on. You’re either a fan of
Ken and Barbie style religionHillsong, or you’re not.Jenny, I’m not in on the plans, but if confidence counts, it’s a sure thing
Thanks for your visit, I thought your designs were amazing!

Homemeadow, these are a couple of places covering the
takeover,(cough!) merger:http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,23739,25355503-952,00.html

I’d be interested to hear what you think. Of course, you know I’ll cope if you have a different opinion to me

Hi Mrs BB
Thanks for all the links…I did wade through *most* of the 77 comments on the blog….
My first thought upon hearing the news about the takeover…was WHY???? Why does a church that has been going for 50 odd years feel the need to loose their own identity and to get swallowed up into the Hill$ong movement??
I’ve heard that people in Sydney call Hill$ong ‘The Till on the Hill’…how appropriate that GCCC is at Mt Gravatt….so now Brisbane will have it’s own version of the Till on the Hill….but then again GCCC was already that.
Many pastors here in Brisbane are concerned for what this will mean for their own churches….it’s kinda already happened on the Gold Coast when some ‘funky’ new pastors from Hill$ong took over the leadership of an established church and turned it into the coast’s version of the ’till on the hill’…..
it’s a sad time.

“Till on the Hill”
That’s too funny. Tragic, but funny.
2 Timothy 4:2-4 (King James Version)
2Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Fables…. or life coaching…..or ‘making life better’ talks…

Hi BB,
I only got back on in the last day or two, and only just read your comment to my earlier post! You are very close to right!!!
I am pulling out all the stops to NOT get addicted to internet/ blogging because I know I am so prone to this sort of thing.
You made me realise that what I thought was great restraint – only checking emails twice and once running through my browser was actually me clutching straws.
thanks

Ruby, I think many people who enjoy blogging suffer this same downfall. Learning to be moderate is a challenge.
Let’s aim for it together!

Mrs. BB
It is way too late for that toon and me… I have started yet another blog project and if you are able to overcome one little nasty word (H.E. double hockey sticks) then you are welcome to come and see what I am up to: this one is in ENGLISH and I would love to see you and all your lovely friends in the comments!
AndysGoodeLife
There are a few posts which micht lend themselves to discussion…

Hi Andrea,
I had a very quick look this morning, but I will have another browse tomorrow when our schedule is (hopefully) a little saner. The job opportunity sounds very adventurous!
May 08, 2009 @ 23:52:10
Yes, adventure is my middle name… I have high hopes of making the first cut (top 50) and mild hopes of making the second cut (top 10), but alas, I am not too sure they want me to be hanging around thier booze for 6 months…
But you do finally get to see me in a video
and hear me
!
And I am learning loads more techie stuff! So if you are interested in learning about twitter, for example, I am going to start posting “how to twitter” for homeschoolers (to help the German homeschoolers out here… I will let you know when I post them, perhaps you can spread the word for me about that so we can support — or your twittering readers can support — the German homeschoolers!)
Here is hoping for saner days… (that does not seem to fit well: sane/day
).
